It all starts here....

First things first, I have to admit I love food! I eat when I am stressed and then get depressed when I eat. Working as a counselor you would think it would be easier to follow directions, NOPE! I have battled with my weight from the middle of high school until now. Between fad diets, weight watchers, calorie counting, diet pills, cleanses, you name it I tried it, and obviously it didn't work.

A few years ago I took up running and loved it. Unfortunately running ruined my foot and I developed planters fascistic. So once I get my eating under control I will be looking at new exercises. I asked my best friend to help coach me since she has a degree in this, today I realized maybe it was a mistake going to be an interesting road. One thing with asking your best friend to help you is realizing she will not sugar coat anything and will tell you how it is...this could take some getting used to! But I still love her!

I have signed up with fitness pal on my phone and will start to ease exercise back into my routine. I know I can lose the weight, my problem is getting bored while doing it. I wanted to start blogging with hopes of gaining support while doing this...hopefully it works!

My question for today is, how do you not get bored with the same routine, foods, and things like that?

  1. I don't get bored with food because i switch it up each week. Throughout the week i am pinning things on my "food matters' board on pinterest. On Sunday nights i menu plan for the whole family but plan out specific lunches and usually one dinner specifically for me. I use this board as my starting point. Each week it differs to try out new things and shake it up. I have 4-5 breakfasts that i typically eat so i vary when i have them but usually go on a stint when i drink smoothies for weeks then want oatmeal for a week then move onto something else.

Exercise never gets boring because i am always changing up the circuits that i do. Circuits are my KEY to not getting bored. Running gets BORING, at least to me, i was never a fan of it. I always do yoga on Sundays as a relaxing day to recharge for the week and stretch and recover.
